The 73rd Gujarat University Annual Convocation,
held on 24th January 2025 at the prestigious Atal Kalm Centre, was a
momentous occasion celebrating academic excellence across various disciplines.
Among the distinguished achievers was Pranjal Wadhwani, a Semester 4
student of the Centre of Excellence, University School of Law, Gujarat
University, who secured the first position for achieving the highest
marks in the first year of the Integrated LLB course. Pranjal Wadhwani's
exceptional academic performance was acknowledged during the convocation, where
she received her award amidst applause and admiration from faculty, peers, and
dignitaries. This accolade reflects her dedication, hard work, and commitment
to excellence in the field of law.

The XI National Moot Court Competition—Lux Et
Veritas, 2025, held at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda on
February 1st and 2nd, 2025, witnessed remarkable performances from
participating teams across the country. This prestigious event brought together
some of the brightest legal minds to showcase their advocacy skills.
The Mooting Team from the Centre of Excellence,
University School of Law, Gujarat University, comprising Kush Dave (Mooter
1), Shivam J. Tripathi (Mooter 2), and Rutvij Dave (Researcher), secured
the position of Second Runner-Up in the competition. Their dedication,
legal acumen, and outstanding courtroom skills earned them accolades from the
esteemed panel of judges.
The competition was judged by distinguished legal
luminaries, including Honourable
Justices Vaibhavi Nanavati, Nirzar S. Desai, and S.V. Pinto of the Gujarat
High Court. They praised the participants for their in-depth research,
persuasive arguments, and eloquent presentation, commending the efforts of the
students in refining their legal reasoning and advocacy skills.
The event provided a platform for aspiring legal
professionals to engage in rigorous debate and develop their litigation
expertise. The participation of the Centre of Excellence team not only brought
recognition to the institution but also reflected the high standards of legal
education imparted at Gujarat University.
This achievement serves as an inspiration for future
mooters and underscores the institution’s dedication to fostering a strong
culture of legal research, advocacy, and professional excellence.

Khushi Patel, a student of Semester 6 from the Centre of Excellence, University School of
Law, Gujarat University, recently participated in the Elocution Competition
organized by Mahatma Gandhi Vichaar Prachaar Kendra. The competition was
held on 12th March, a historically significant day marking the commencement of
the Dandi March led by Mahatma Gandhi.
The theme of the elocution competition was "The
Relevance or Significance of Mahatma Gandhi's Ideology in Modern India."
Each participant was given four minutes to present their views on the
topic. The competition saw the participation of 20 students from various
institutions, showcasing their oratory skills and depth of understanding on the
subject.Khushi Patel delivered an insightful and well-articulated speech,
emphasizing the enduring relevance of Mahatma Gandhi's principles of non-violence,
truth, self-reliance, and social justice in contemporary India. Her speech
resonated with the judges and audience alike, earning her the 2nd position in the competition. In recognition of
her excellent performance, she was awarded a certificate and an appreciation
award.

The
students of the Centre of Excellence, School of Law, Gujarat University
achieved Winning Position at the prestigious Nyaya Abhyuday 2.0 – 4th NFSU
National Technological Moot Court Competition, held on 28th–29th March 2026.
The competition witnessed participation from more than 48 teams across the
country, making it a highly competitive and esteemed event in the field of
legal advocacy and technological law.
Representing the institution, Priyanka
Majumadar (Semester 8), Khushi Patel (Semester 8), and Bhadresh Bhandari
(Semester 6) showcased exceptional legal knowledge, research skills, and
advocacy throughout the competition. Competing against leading law
institutions, the team demonstrated strong arguments, clarity of thought, and
confidence in every round.
With their outstanding performance
and dedication, the team emerged as Winners of the competition, bringing
immense pride and recognition to the institution. Their achievement reflects
not only their individual excellence but also their teamwork and commitment to
mooting.
The participation and overall
coordination were also supported by Dr. Bhavesh H. Bharad, Coordinator, Centre
of Excellence, School of Law, Gujarat University, whose efforts contributed
significantly to the successful representation of the institution.

The Centre of Excellence, School of Law, Gujarat
University proudly participated in the Ellis Bridge South Zonal Youth
Festival 2025 – “Yuvaamrut”, held on 11–12 September 2025 at Gujarat
University, Ahmedabad, and hosted by JG College. Our students
showcased their talent in 17 events spanning Fine Arts, Literary, Folk
Dance, Theatre, Music, and the Traditional Cultural Procession (Rally), where
they secured the 3rd Position. From artistic brilliance in Rangoli,
Mehndi, and Painting to eloquence in Debate, Elocution, and Quiz, every
performance reflected passion and creativity. Theatre and Music brought further
vibrancy with powerful stage acts and soulful melodies. The enthusiastic
participation highlighted the versatility and dedication of our students,
standing as a testimony to the institution’s commitment to holistic growth,
innovation, and cultural pride.
